CLEVELAND – November 19, 2014 – Cleveland-based Tap Packaging Solutions is proud to be one of the first companies in the world to purchase the HP Indigo 30000, the first digital press designed specifically for folding cartons. With the purchase of this 80 foot, 30,000 pound digital press, Tap will be able to provide personalization, innovation and new possibilities in folding carton design.

Currently in the final stages of installation and training, Tap is proud and eager to offer this advanced technology, which facilitates one-to-one, personalized packaging and shorter, more frequent runs.

“Tap Packaging is a 108-year-old packaging company that understands and embraces change,” said J. Anthony Hyland, president and chief executive officer, Tap Packaging Solutions. ”We believe the HP 30000 will be a game changer in the production of folding cartons, and we’re excited to offer our customers the high quality, fast turn around and flexibility of this printing press.”

Of the Indigo 30000’s many unique features, notably the most beneficial to end users are its in-line primer, TRESU coater and 29 x 20 inch format. The in-line primer enables the press to print on nearly any off-the-shelf substrate, including plastic, metalized board, and recycled board – from 8 pt to 24 pt. The TRESU coater, also in-line, allows each sheet to be coated with a full flood or spot UV or Aqueous coating. And, at 29 inches wide, the widest of the Indigo presses, the Indigo 30000 can print nearly all folding carton applications.

With a keen understanding of today’s consumer trends, Tap expects brand owners within the consumer goods industry to take full-advantage of the Indigo 30000’s variable printing, easy versioning and personalization. “This press can print multiple designs at any run length to keep up with re-designs, seasonal packaging, SKU proliferation, and point-of-sale campaigns,” said Jordana Revella, marketing director, Tap Packaging Solutions.
