We have an immediate need for an experienced Prepress Technician to join our team!
Shift available: Second Shift (Monday through Friday, 2 PM – 10:30 PM)
Responsibilities will include:
- Coordinate with production to prioritize jobs and, when necessary, reorganize to meet deadline changes and updates.
- Determines prepress requirements by reviewing job tickets; studying layout, content, and specifications.
- Responsible for providing consistency in file setup, color, workflow and quality.
- Responsible for performing prepress production work such as platemaking, proofing and preparation of files for computer-to-plate workflow
- Output offset plates per production schedule to offset platesetter.
- Maintain platesetters and processors by performing scheduled maintenance, changing chemistry and maintaining inventory supplies.
- Perform equipment monitoring to ensure both accuracy and integrity are met to productivity standards for all job materials.
- Contribute to process improvement, by always looking for ways to deliver higher quality print jobs within quickest possible turnaround times
Position Requirements:
- Associate’s Degree in Graphic Arts or similar
- Working knowledge of prepress systems for trapping, CTP, CIP3 interface, specifically Esko Automation, Inkzone and HP SmartStream.
- Knowledge of industry desktop software such as Illustrator, Photoshop and Acrobat.
- Knowledgeable in CAD, specifically Cimex and/or ArtiosCAD.
- At least 2 years of experience in a prepress production environment
- Ability to recognize and visually differentiate color
- Strong proofing and interpersonal skills required
- Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize work and minimize production downtime
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite and Esko (strong plus)
- Ability to work in fast-paced production environment
